Chart Type
The chart can draw price in five ways. The chart-type button sits in the toolbar, right of the timeframes, and shows the icon of the type in use.
Click the button, then click a type. The chart redraws at once and the menu closes. Press Esc or click anywhere else to close the menu without a change.
Your choice is saved and comes back the next time you open the app. A new install starts on Candles.
The five types
| Type | What you see |
|---|---|
| Candles | Filled candles. The body runs from open to close, the wicks to the high and low. Up candles are green, down candles red. |
| Hollow | Up candles are drawn as outlines, down candles are filled. Same colours as Candles. |
| Bars | OHLC bars: a vertical line from high to low, a tick on the left for the open and a tick on the right for the close. Same colours as Candles. |
| Line | One line through each bar’s close, in the chart’s text colour. No fill. |
| Area | The same line as Line, with a gold fill under it that fades out toward the bottom of the chart. |
What changes and what doesn’t
Only the way price is drawn changes. Indicators, drawings, alerts, the timeframe and the last-price label stay as they are.
Line and Area follow the close only, so they don’t show the highs and lows of each bar. Switch back to Candles, Hollow or Bars to see the full range.
